Automation Technical Lead

This 12-month contract offers the chance to work in an advanced technical environment, collaborating with industry experts on a high-profile project with international impact.

The role

As Automation Technical Lead, you will own automation design, development, and delivery for a major CAPEX project. Provide technical direction and act as the authority for automation and MES integration, ensuring scope, cost, and schedule targets are met.

Your focus will include:

  • Leading third-party integrators and package unit suppliers for seamless integration into automation and OT systems
  • Acting as central technical contact for automation and MES, resolving issues to maintain project momentum
  • Driving alignment with automation standards and best practices
  • Coordinating and approving technical documentation, design specs, and validation protocols
  • Overseeing software configuration, coding, hardware specification, and control panel design
  • Supervising external engineering contractors and vendors throughout the project
  • Facilitating Automation and MES integration with OSI Pi Historian
  • Providing expertise in DeltaV DCS configuration, environmental monitoring, and eLogs deployment

What you bring

  • Degree in Electrical, Chemical, Process Control, or related Engineering field (MSc/BSc preferred)
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end automation and MES projects in life sciences or regulated industries
  • In-depth knowledge of DeltaV DCS, SAP, BMS, PCS, Siemens PLCs, OSI Pi Historian, and GMP environments
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements (CFR 21 Part 11, GAMP 5)
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in aseptic manufacturing environments (highly desirable)
  • Fluency in English
