Plant Operator
Talent STEM is supporting a specialist manufacturing business with the recruitment of Plant Operators to join its growing operations team.
This is a hands-on, site-based role working within a regulated production environment where safety, quality and attention to detail are essential.
The position would suit someone with experience in chemical manufacturing, process operations, pharmaceutical production, materials handling, or another technical manufacturing environment.
The Role
As Plant Operator, you will support day-to-day production activities on site, working as part of a small operations team to ensure materials are processed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Supporting manufacturing and production activities
- Operating plant equipment and following site procedures
- Handling and processing materials safely
- Completing production documentation accurately
- Taking samples and supporting quality checks where required
- Working in line with health, safety and environmental standards
- Maintaining good housekeeping across production areas
- Supporting continuous improvement and right-first-time working
- Working closely with team leaders, management and other departments
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who have experience in a hands-on production, plant, process or manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:
- Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, process, materials or technical manufacturing
- A good understanding of safe working practices
- Strong attention to detail
- A reliable, practical and flexible approach
- Good communication skills
- The ability to follow procedures and complete documentation accurately
- Confidence working in a physical, site-based role
- Basic IT skills
A science or chemistry-related qualification would be useful, but practical experience in a relevant environment is just as important.
Working Pattern
The role is currently based on daytime working hours.
The business is also reviewing future shift requirements, so applicants should be open to potential shift work in the future. Any confirmed changes would be communicated in advance.
