General Operative - Recycling (part shift work)

Production Operative (Shift) – Temporary to Permanent

Talent STEM are recruiting on behalf of a well-established industrial business within the recycling and materials processing sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Production Operative to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

This is a hands-on role in a busy industrial environment involving yard duties, material handling, machinery operation and forklift truck work. Applicants must hold a valid Counterbalance FLT licence.

Key Responsibilities

  • General yard and processing duties
  • Material handling, sorting and preparation
  • Operating machinery and equipment following training
  • Using hand and power tools safely
  • Counterbalance FLT operation
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Maintaining high housekeeping and safety standards
  • Supporting wider site operations as required

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a recycling, yard, manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (essential)
  • Experience operating machinery and/or industrial tools
  • Good level of physical fitness
  • Flexible approach to working hours and duties
  • Strong commitment to health and safety

Hours

The role combines standard Monday–Friday daytime hours with planned 12-hour day and night shifts during certain weeks. Shift schedules are provided in advance.
